(10/29) The cadence' schematic composer page (above) updated with interlinked complete tutorials to walk you through the schematic entry, symbol generation and hspice simulation (using cadence'analog artist environment) . Please go through the tutorials since you will need to know this for your HW#7.

In solutions of PS5, Q4 : where I show 4 contact resistors in parallel, there should be ONLY 2. Actually, 2 contacts are from metal to n+ (substrate connection) while 2 of them are from metal to p+. So, current flowing from metal to n+ will "actually" not contribute to current through the pmos devices. Thanks to Bob Schell for pointing this out.

In solutions of PS6, Q1 : I haven't shown the p-well in the cross-sections. This is an error. p-well will be visible in both the cross-sections as is obviously clear from colorplate 17.

(10/03) In HW5, PRoblem 4, assume the layout corresponds to 1um CMOS technology which is used in the text book(inside back cover). Thus the transistor length would be 1um.
